The PDES-MINI is a compact pneumatic pressure-ejection system designed for the precise application of liquid and viscous substances, such as pharmacological or physiological solutions, through micropipettes. It is particularly suitable for microinjection and localized drug application in electrophysiological and biomedical experiments, where controlled delivery of small amounts of substance is required. Its compact housing allows the unit to be positioned close to the experimental setup and easily transferred between different setups.

The system operates by applying a controlled pressure pulse to a micropipette containing the substance to be delivered. A voltage-controlled precision pressure regulator sets the application pressure, while an electronically controlled valve determines the duration of the pressure pulse. Application can be initiated manually, by a built-in timer, or by an external 5 V TTL trigger. The applied pressure can be controlled remotely via an analog voltage and monitored through an analog output, enabling integration with external control and data-acquisition systems. The PDES-MINI provides an output pressure range of 0.2–4 bar and can achieve application times from 20 ms with a standard external valve or from 2 ms when used with the microJECT fast valve.
