pH MicroImplant Sensor

pH MicroImplant Fiber Optic Implantable Sensor

Implantable fiber-optic pH sensor WPI MicroImplant has no housing, which allows to implant it into the blood system of the animal or implant it into the soil.

Benefits

  • Software that is simple to use saves and displays measured values
  • One computer can link to several pHOptica meters
  • A temperature sensor is used to track temperature changes
  • The absence of a reference electrode

Applications

The pHOptica micro system is a single-channel pH system designed to work with fiber optic microsensors. Among the applications are:

  • Entering live tissue through insertion or penetration (heart, muscle or animal blood vessels)
  • Placement in the ground to measure pH
  • Implantation in custom-built housing

The maker creates appropriate housings and tubings around the tiny glass fiber tip to prevent breakage. Your application will determine the design you select.

A 18 ga stainless steel needle with a needle-type housing sensor (502123) protects the fiber. When measuring, the fiber must be expanded. The septum is broken through by it.

The implanted sensor (502124) has no housing and can be inserted into soil or blood circuits of animals. With this adaptable sensor design, you may create your own housings to fit your needs.

Key Features

  • Resistant to magnetic fields and electrical interference
  • Low drift
  • A tiny tip size that results in high spatial resolution
  • Tiny sample volume measurements
  • For measurements in colored or photosynthetically active samples, additional optical isolation of the sensor tip is possible
  • Tip size: 140 um
  • Drift of 0.1 pH units for 2000 measurements
