The WPI's MicroTip fiber-optic oxygen sensor has a small tip size of 50 ?µm and a fast response time (t90) of 1 s.
501656 - MicroTip, needle-type housing fiber-optic oxygen sensor, 50 μm tip
501656-C - MicroTip, needle-type housing, 50 μm tip, optical isolation
501656-F - MicroTip, needle-type housing, 140 μm flat tip
The MicroTip is a needle-type (27 ga.) oxygen microsensor created for applications requiring a 50 µm tip size and a 1 s t90 response time. The 140 mm fiber that makes up the oxygen-sensitive sensor tip is trimmed to a 50 µm tip. A stainless steel needle with a diameter of 0.4 mm and a length of 22 mm contains the sensor. This makes it possible to pass through rubber septums or other similar materials. These sensors are perfect for determining the oxygen content of sediments and biofilms.
