A novel fiber optic low volume flow cell for UV/VIS/NIR absorbance analysis is called the MicroLWCC. The analyte solution serves as the core of a fluid-filled light waveguide, which is based on the well-known liquid core waveguide technology from WPI. PEEK, fused silica, and PTFE are the wetted components in the sample cell light path. Light is transported to and from the sample cell using optical fibers. The cell can be utilized in biochemistry for HPLC analysis, drug discovery and dissolution testing, colorimetric nutritional and trace metal analysis, DNA, RNA, and protein quantification, and process control.
