The WPI's ISO-OXY-2 oxygen sensor is a Clark type with a tip size of 2 mm and can be used for measuring O2 in very small volumes.
Analyze biological samples quantitatively and directly.
The oxygen-sensing element and independent reference electrode are included within a single shielded design in this sensor, which uses WPI's own combination electrode technology. The end of the sleeve is fitted with a gas-permeable polymer membrane that allows oxygen to pass through while obstructing liquids, ions, and particulate debris.
Oxygen permeates the membrane. When the monitoring device is turned on and the sensor is properly connected, the voltage applied to the sensor is maintained at -0.7V. The rate of diffusion through the membrane determines the size of the electrical current that is created. The rate and the partial pressure of oxygen outside the membrane are related. The flow rate is used to calculate the partial pressure of oxygen.
The 2.0 mm stainless steel ISO-OXY-2 sensor has a refillable internal electrolyte (#7326) and interchangeable membrane sleeves (5378).
NOTE: The 10mL filling solution (#7326), 1cc syringe, MF28G67 MicroFil needle, and two extra membrane sleeves are included with the 2mm biosensors.
