The WPI nitric oxide sensor (2 mm) can be used to determine the concentration of NO (and nitrite, nitrate) in cell cultures.
The original nitric oxide probe is perfect for various applications, including cell suspensions and cultures.
The widely used, reliable, and high-performance ISO-NOP sensor is housed in a 2 mm diameter, single-use stainless steel protective sleeve. A NO-selective membrane covers the tip of the sleeve. The internal electrolyte for replacement membrane sleeves is available separately (WPI #5436; WPI #7325).
The ISO-NOP may be easily utilized for indirect rapid accurate detection of nitrite (NO-2) and nitrate (NO-3) concentration in samples by making a small modification to the experimental methodology. It is frequently achievable to detect NO-2 or NO-3 at a detection limit as low as 1 nM with this approach.
NOTE: An extra membrane sleeve, a 1cc syringe, an MF28G67 MicroFil needle, and 10mL of filling solution are included with the 2 mm biosensors.
Other reactive species that are expected to be present in the measuring environment shouldn't affect the NO sensor's performance. Standard Nafion-coated carbon fiber NO sensors respond positively to such species. The innovative surface membrane used in WPI's revolutionary NO sensor technology increases the reaction to NO while suppressing responses to a wide range of reactive species, such as nitrite, absorbic acid, hydrogen peroxide, catecolamines, and many others.
