EVOM™ Manual For Teer Measurement

Comparing the EVOM™ Manual to conventional Trans Epithelial Electrical Resistance (TEER) meters, the former offers enhanced workflow efficiency and more stable and consistent results. The big screen of the EVOM™ Manual offers a variety of instructional views while giving users crucial feedback during experiment measurements.Scientists can now provide a straightforward, step-by-step methodology during experimental measurements thanks to the new graphical representations for trend analysis and measurement values. The menu for configuration on the touch screen interface is clear and simple to use.

The EVOM™ Manual eliminates the need for manual data logging by saving resistance or voltage data in CSV format to a USB drive for transmission to spreadsheets and data analysis software. Measurements can be recorded without using a hand when utilized with the footswitch.

WPI's newest processor and circuitry, which is at the heart of the EVOM™ Manual, gives customers rapid, simple, and trustworthy readings thanks to its quick stabilization, automated twenty-times sampling average, and low noise design. Fast resistance measurements are made possible by the auto ranging resistance feature, and false readings are eliminated by the over-range display feature. The EVOM™ Manual features three fixed ranges with changeable current levels, including two lower ranges for membranes with sensitivity and high resistance ranges up to 100 KΩ.

TEER Measurement Electrode

The STX4 electrode (not supplied) was created to be inserted quickly and easily into a variety of 24-well plates. For accurate and reproducible readings, it can be moved about in the insert. The new insulated electrodes have been improved to reduce electrical interference and make maintenance simpler.

  • The brand-new STX4 electrode is made for 12- and 24-well plates
  • Weighted self-standing electrode for steady measurements without the need for hands
  • Shielded cable to reduce cell phone and electrical interference

STX4 Benefits

It is typical to purchase the STX4 electrode along with the EVOM™ Manual.

  • Several readings are not necessary since a keyed electrode base allows for reproducible positioning and more reliable results
  • Never needs chloriding and is simple to maintain
  • Replaceable electrode blades are a good cost-saving measure

How Does the EVOM™ Manual Function?

The novel STX4 electrode and the EVOM™ Manual's distinctive electronic circuit are used to detect an increment or a plateau in tissue resistance, which indicates the confluence of a cellular monolayer. The EVOM™ Manual quantifies cell confluence and evaluates the health of the cell monolayer qualitatively. Low AC current generated by the EVOM™ Manual prevents electrode metal deposits and harmful tissue effects that greater DC currents may otherwise result in. The EVOM™ Manual is made for non-destructive assessment of epithelial monolayer confluence in cell cultures and employs low currents and voltages. Moreover, neither membrane capacitance nor membrane voltage have an impact on resistance values. The EVOM™ Manual-STX4 system's accuracy and repeatability make it the perfect tool for permeability, PD, and other in-depth membrane research.
