Micro-Tweezer for working on individual muscle fibers. There is a mechanosensor that can be integrated with the piezo-nanomotor.
The SI-H line of muscle handling equipment and the Micro-Tweezer are intended to function together. Individual muscle fibers can be delicately grasped with the Micro-Tweezer without causing cell injury. The micropincer is equipped with a mechanosensor that is extremely sensitive. The piezo-nanomotor and the mechanosensor can be combined or used individually. It is managed by an exclusive electronic circuit (control panel unit).
The micropipette jaws are attached to the tip of a hollow metal tube that is lined with stainless steel wire. The tweezers are released when the wire is commanded to travel forward by the control panel. They are compressed during the opposing motion, making it possible to grasp a single muscle fiber.
A micromotor on the control panel enables stepless adjustment of the separation between the two tweezers. Little cells can be moved with a nanometer-level of accuracy. The jaws of micro tweezers are covered in a biocompatible polymer to prevent cell death when they come into touch with metal.
With an inverted microscope, a complete system can be placed, including micromotors for coarse movements.
