MRI Stereotaxic Instruments

RWD MRI stereotactic devices enable neurobiological studies on the brains of dogs, monkeys, pigs and other large animals in the conditions of MRI chambers and nuclear tomographs.

All the features of standard stereotaxic apparatus are available on RWD MRI stereotaxic instruments. For precise and secure animal fixation, the dog/monkey adaptor is designed to fit into the animal's hearing organ's front end through ear bars. The top jaw plate and movable eye bar keep the animal in place and prevent head motion. The entire apparatus is constructed from particular non-metallic components that are specifically employed in animal research in nuclear magnetic fields. It has a good fixation ability and satisfies the particular requirements for precise placing of animal heads in research trials on the cerebral cortex.

Technical Parameters

  1. Materials made entirely of plastic that are MRI-compatible and safe for use in nuclear environments
  2. There are adaptors available for pigs, dogs, and other large animals.
  3. Longer movement range: ±100mm, 1mm resolution, Y-axis slide design. Choice AP Micro-driver with a 50 μm improvement in Y-axis resolution.
  4. The frame bar's centerline is 178.5 mm away.
  5. Allows for the storage of up to six manipulator arms for separate operation.
  6. The skulls of huge animals of various weights are better stabilized by a novel jaw plate design.
  7. The widened base plate (420mm x 200mm) can accommodate a wide range of animal sizes.
  8. Scales with laser engraving make reading them comfortable.
  9. Ear bar locked plate pushing rather than clamping provides greater stability.
