Quad is the latest motorized micromanipulator with 4 axes. Easy to operate, it has a compact controller equipped with ROE.
The QUAD® motorized micromanipulator has four independent axes and is simple to use. Each axis features a ROE control, a digital position display, and a 25mm range of motion. The small, simple controller uses little bench space, has no fans, and is simple to operate. The standard X, Y, and Z-orthogonal motion of most motorized micromanipulators is provided by three axes. Sutter adds a real fourth axis to the QUAD, allowing the electrode to be moved coaxially at the precise angle of approach. The system's range of travel is greatly increased by the fourth axis, which has 30mm of travel.
Operating a QUAD is quite simple. The small design requires little bench space, offers ROE control, a digital position display, is fan-free, and is simple to operate. Each axis' ROE inputs enable simple manual control of electrode location. All of the fundamental operations you will require in everyday use are conveniently controlled by five strategically placed buttons. To quickly save a work position, press and hold the [WORK] button. If you hit [WORK] again, the manipulator will return to the same spot. For quick electrode changes, [HOME] sends the manipulator to its starting point or any user-defined position. Pressing [LOCK] will suppress the motor drive electronics once you're ready to start collecting data. By pressing [RELATIVE], you can zero the display's coordinates anywhere and switch back to absolute coordinates by clicking [RELATIVE] once more. Last but not least, [PULSE] engages a pulse movement mode that generates brief, quick bursts of motion that may be useful for precise electrode cell penetration.
