Oximeters

Oximeter Pods

Oximeters are used for non-invasive measurement of blood oxygen saturation (SpO2). The devices are connected directly to the PowerLab through a separate port or through a splitter. The sensors used are a crimped sensor or a clip-on sensor.

There are two types of oximeter pods for the non-invasive measurement of blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), one for recording from people and the other from animals. The PowerLab Pod Port or a Pod Expander accepts Oximeter Pods directly. With the appropriate suitable Oximeter Pod, a SpO2 Finger Clip or SpO2 Ear Clip can be used to test human SpO2. Without the need for additional scaling, direct saturation readings in the 70–100% range can be taken. Oximeter pods from ADInstruments are research tools; they are not meant for use by average people at home. Using the corresponding compatible Oximeter Pod and a SpO2 Animal Clip, Base Sensor, or Wrap Sensor, an animal's oxygen saturation can be determined.

Configurations

Animal Oximeter Pod (Animal Clip)

ML325/AC

Suitable for detecting pulse oximetry on an animal's tongue or paw.

Animal Oximeter Pod (Base Sensor)

ML325/BS

Suitable for monitoring pulse oximetry on well-vascularized surfaces such as an animal's underside, tail base, or other surfaces.

Animal Oximeter Pod (Wrap Sensor)

ML325/AW

Particularly set up to measure pulse oximetry from an animal tail.

Oximeter Pod (Ear Clip)

ML320/E

A research ear clip gadget for non-invasively measuring human blood oxygen saturation.

Oximeter Pod (Finger Clip)

ML320/F

An investigation finger-clip gadget for non-invasively measuring people's blood oxygen saturation.

Features

  • LEDs made of semiconductors are used in the transducer.
  • Calibrated in advance to read in % SpO2. 100% SpO2 is the scale's fixed value.
  • If the SpO2 value falls below 70% or the pulse cannot be found, an alert will go on.
  • Not recommended for mice is the Animal Oximeter Pod (ML325) (rats and larger).

Technical Parameters
