NANOLITER2020 is the updated version of WPI??™s popular NANOLITER2010 Injector that is capable of performing precision injections in the nanoliter range using a variety of glass micropipette sizes.

Use Glass Micropipettes to Administer Nanoliter Volume Injections

The operation of a nanoliter injector is based on the positive displacement theory. The metal plunger that forces the oil into the micropipette and the oil-layer that pushes nanoliter amounts of aqueous material out of the pipette tip are accurately moved by an internal micrometer step motor.

Precision and accuracy are ensured by careful plunger displacement control and adequate gasket, glass micropipette, and oil sealing.

Simple-to-Use Touchscreen Controller

The popular NANOLITER2010 Injector from WPI has been updated as NANOLITER2020. It can now execute precise injections in the nanoliter range utilizing a range of glass micropipette diameters. The new type links directly to the WPI MICRO2T SMARTouchTM controller, which is also compatible with WPI's UMP3 pump and enables synchronous or asynchronous control of the pumps. A LED light on the new injector head demonstrates that the controller and pump are communicating properly. Because of its thorough validation of plunger displacement, NANOLITER2020 offers more precision. The system includes a stylish silver injector head and is simpler to use.

Applications

The NANOLITER2020 Injector is ideal for injecting liquids in the nanoliter to microliter range utilizing glass micropipettes into the embryos of frogs (Xenopus oocytes), rats, mice, mosquitoes, shrimp, insects (such as the Brown Planthopper), flies (such as Drosophila), and fish (Zebrafish).

Important Notes

  • The 300704 Injector can only be used with a MICRO2T SMARTouch™ controller. (UMP3 pumps can be controlled by the same MICRO2T controller.)
  • To use the 300704 Injector, you must have the 300746 Spare Parts Kit.
  • The 300704 does not contain glass micropipettes. Utilize WPI glass micropipettes or create your own using glass capillaries (504949 or 504950) and a puller.
  • To remove gaskets from the NANOLITER2020 Injector Head, use a tweezer (501981).
  • One set of gaskets is included with the 300704 Injector Head to be used with 1.1–1.15 mm OD fire-polished glass.
