CardioExcyte 96 – Electrophysiology, Along with Cell Viability and Contractility

CardioExcyte 96 is ready for investigation of cell viability, electrophysiology, and contractility of intact cardiomyocyte networks.

A hybrid device called the CardioExcyte 96 records the electrophysiology and contractility of intact cardiomyocyte networks. Furthermore, as an indicator of both acute and chronic cell activity, the base impedance readout is automatically and continually monitored. Not only do contractile cardiac cells become included, but non-contractile cell types like cancerous or hepatocyte-like cells are also included in the complexities of cytotoxic reactions. High resolution, non-invasive, and label-free measurements of impedance and extracellular field potential are made. Recording from 96 wells at once, the CardioExcyte 96 is an automated instrument.

For effective impedance and extracellular field potential measurements, the CardioExcyte 96 is a turn-key system that includes advanced sensor technology and embedded electronics in the well-plate-based consumables. An incubator is not necessary for the CardioExcyte 96 system because it comes with an incubation system. The system is benchtop mounted and has humidity, gas mix, and temperature control.

An excellent software package for data handling and export is a crucial component of the CardioExcyte 96 system, enabling efficiency and user-friendliness. The system has been verified using monolayers or beating 3D-clusters of cardiomyocytes produced from stem cells from all major stem cell providers. It has also been tested using cell lines (cancer cells, hepatocyte-like cells, etc.) for cytotoxicity investigations.
