Stands to securely fasten the micromanipulator/perfusion system/etc. at the specified height and angle to the working area/bath/preparations.
Look to the MT-75 series stands for maximum flexibility when positioning micromanipulators or other equipment close to your microscope. These distinctive gantry systems allow for up to 360 degrees of rotation and customizable vertical and horizontal axes. The 3/4 in. made of aluminum cantilever, which is dovetailed for stable alignment, will support your manipulator or other device. A substantial pillar made of stainless steel with a 2-inch diameter supports the cantilever assembly. The same extruded aluminum tower that supports Sutter's MT-70 stands also supports the post. For an extra degree of positioning flexibility, the tower can be mounted to the base-plate either in the middle or on the perimeter.
The post/cantilever assembly can be quickly unlocked and rotated up to 320 degrees before being rotated back to the same positive stop position and locked in place (the placement and removal of microelectrodes from headstages, for instance). Once the positive stop is removed, the rotation will complete 360 degrees. The mechanism rotates smoothly thanks to a Teflon washer.
For mounting onto tables, the solid aluminum baseplate features through-holes spaced 1 inch (25mm) apart. There are 18 holes along the borders of the cantilever, each one spaced at 1 inch. Additional movement flexibility is provided via the MT-75/LS manipulator mount. Rotational movement for pipette replacement is frequently impossible in multi-manipulator setups. The manipulator may be swiftly and easily moved to a spot where the pipette can be changed using a long linear rail. After being changed, the manipulator can be slid back into the working position by a set stop.
An aluminum collar that firmly clamps onto the steel post and allows for vertical positioning fixes the system's height. With a 1.5 kg weight at the end of the cantilever, these devices, which are exceptionally stiff, deflect around 2 mm for every 25 mm of rise.
There are several configurations for the MT-75:
