Lambda FLED

Fluorescent Light Source Sutter Lambda FLED

The Lambda FLED is a high-power light source for fluorescence microscopy applications. In the FLED-DC configuration it can be used for high-speed switching between two LEDs.

For use in fluorescence microscopy, the Lambda FLED was created as a high-power LED driver. The FLED has been tailored for single-channel, high-current LEDs used as excitation light sources based on Sutter's tried-and-true TLED+ architecture.

The core components of the system are a controller and an LED installed on a unique heat sink made of black anodized aluminum. The controller is supplied by a robust modular universal power supply and is CNC machined from solid aluminum billet. A toggle switch or TTL logic can be used to regulate the FLED's on/off and intensity settings. By using TTL control, the on-off time is less than 25 microseconds. The Lambda FLED provides an analog input for modulating LED intensity in addition to digital input control. It is anticipated that the Lambda FLED would have consistent output for more than 50,000 hours.

From 365 nm to 940 nm, a variety of wavelength-specific LEDs can be ordered for the Lambda FLED. If you need a wavelength that is not listed, call us.

Two high power LEDs from dual channel Lambda FLED option are combined into a single light path. Two channels can be used with the FLED-DC for fluorescence imaging. Both channels can be triggered independently by a TTL signal and are each driven by a separate FLED controller. Please refer to Sutter Lambda 421 or Lambda OBC if your system contains more LEDs than two.

Each Lambda FLED system comes with comprehensive installation instructions and an optical mounting adaptor for the microscope's excitation port. The majority of models of Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss, and Leica microscopes can be mounted using mounting adapters. For a fee, special adapters are available.
