The GSM-3 programmable gas mixer allows the user to obtain the desired mixture of two or three gases. Four different mixing programs can be operated simultaneously.
The GSM-3 Gas Mixer can combine any three input gases to produce unique gas mixtures. The total flow and the % concentration of each gas combine to form a mixture. Each gas's resulting flow is calculated and shown on the LCD display. On the GSM-3, four user-defined combinations can be locally saved and switched on and off using a pushbutton. Any number of combinations can be saved on the computer and brought up at a later time using the GSM-CommVS software that is included. You can use the GSM-3's front-panel controls alone or with the included software to operate it (see below). For the intended application, the best flow controllers are selected for each GSM-3.
Users-defined combination configurations can be saved and loaded as needed with this software, which is compatible with Windows 7, 10, and later versions. The Sequencer implements timed protocols using a straightforward programming language. These timed sequences are repeatable and can be named, saved, and stored. The requirement to manually swap gas mixes for a specific experimental methodology is removed by this capability. Each stage in the sequence has a TIME and a FUNCTION programmed into it that may be chosen from a drop-down menu.
The mixture settings are set exactly as they would be from the front panel controls of the GSM-3, except for the sequencer. Every mixture consists of a chosen Gas, a Total Flow, and various Gas Concentrations. The user is prevented from configuring an invalid mixture through error checking. Any group of programmed combinations can be given a name, saved, and retrieved for use at a later time.
In most applications, a background gas and one or two active gasses (such O2 or CO2) are used (usually N2). The user chooses this background gas, also known as fill gas, and it is automatically calculated to complete the balance of the gas mixture. Because of this, the mixture's component parts will always sum up to 100%. The bar graph displays the gas concentrations of a combination while it is operating.
You are not charged extra for the customization of each GSM-3 gas mixer. Please contact us if you have any queries regarding customizing the GSM-3 for your needs. In order to best tailor your gas mixer, our technical team is prepared to collaborate with you to identify the ideal flow control ranges needed.
