EXT-02F – Extracellular Amplifier

Npi's EXT-02FDual/Single Channel Extracellular Amplifier with differential inputs that provide high input resistance through BNC connectors or optionally with headstages.

Advantages of the EXT-02F

  • Capture any extracellular signal (single units, EEG, ECG, etc.) utilizing adaptable filter configurations.
  • The integrated audio monitor facilitates cell identification.
  • Record from freely moving subjects using npi’s mini headstages.
  • An alternative option is the EXT-02B, which features a switchable headstage (for recording/stimulation).
  • It is also offered as a module compatible with the EPMS-07 system.

Dual/Single Channel Amplifier

The EXT-02F is equipped with two differential inputs that provide high input resistance through BNC connectors or optionally with headstages. The output voltage signal can be accessed in either AC or DC mode with adjustable gain (up to 10k) and is filterable. The system is encased in a desktop metal housing with an external power supply.

Two LEDs indicate when the amplifier is nearing its linear range limit, and an analog balance monitor simplifies offset control. Additionally, an audio monitor enables acoustic oversight of the recorded signal. The EXT-02F is also available in a one-channel configuration.

The amplifier is appropriate for single unit recordings as well as EEG and ECG data collection.

HIGH PASS FILTER: OFF, 3, 30, 100, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1k, 3k, 10k Hz

AUDIO MONITOR:

GAIN: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1k, 2k, 5k, 10k

OFFSET COMPENSATION: Potentiometer with 2 ranges: ±0.1 V or ±1 V

  • GAIN: BNC connector, 1 V per step, +1 V….+7 V
  • FILTER: BNC connector, 1 V per step, -8 V….+7 V
  • COMMAND: BNC connector, sensitivity: x10
