SciWorks Data Acquisition & Analysis

For each kind of study protocol, SciWorks Discovery provides all-inclusive software for data collection and analysis. Up to 128 channels.

Main Options

SciWorks Discovery

Completely functional tools for acquiring and analyzing data for one to eight channels. Comprises hardware for collecting data and software for analysis.

SciWorks Discovery Pro

Enhance the ability to record and analyze more than eight channels at once. Able to accommodate 128 channels. Supports the tracking and analysis system called VideoBench. Supports an intricate system of stimulus creation.

SciWorks Analysis

Software application for standalone study of neurological and behavioral data. Compliant with a large range of data export formats from data collecting systems other than Sciworks.

SciWorks® Discovery And Discovery Pro Data Acquisition & Analysis System

A-M Systems' high-tech A/D hardware and SciWorks Discovery software are the ideal match for low-channel-count extracellular or intracellular amplifiers. It is intended to operate with one to eight single-ended data channels. Take into consideration our Discovery Pro system, which has more channels, optional video capabilities, and a higher sample rate, if you need more data processing power. For a wide range of electrophysiological investigations, SciWorks Discovery is a real-time data collecting, analysis, and instrument control tool. It offers the user a single interface for controlling instrumentation, generating complex stimulation patterns, doing real-time data analysis (including multi-unit spike sorting and separation), and writing data to several widely used industry-defined data formats.

The procedures of gathering data and analyzing it are combined into one software program. Without needing to switch software packages, users may specify how the experiment should operate, gather data, use complex analysis tools, and save both raw and processed data simultaneously.

In order to get direct access to the A/D card's most important connections, Discovery can be used in conjunction with a BNC breakout box or, for a less expensive option, a screw-terminal attachment.

Common applications include:

  • Single-Unit Recording*
  • Multi-Unit Recording*
  • Evoked Responses
  • Field Potentials
  • EEG
  • ECG / EKG
  • ERG
  • EMG
  • Sleep Studies
  • Behavior
  • LTP / LTD
  • Voltage Clamp
  • Current Clamp
  • Dose Response Curve
  • Motor Unit Activity
  • Intracellular Recording
  • Respiration
  • Pulse Oximetry
  • Motion
  • Blood Pressure
  • GSR
  • Brainstem Evoked Response
  • Auditory Evoked Response**
  • Video Capture and Analysis***

*Due to bandwidth constraints, the number of concurrent spike recording channels for Discovery is restricted to three.

**Discovery Pro only

***Discovery Pro only; requires optional VideoBench Module

For Sciworks Discovery to function properly, an A/D card is needed. You can purchase the A/D card in a handy breakout box, which provides complete access to all the capabilities of the data acquisition input-output device. These features include various clocks and triggering connections, as well as all analog and digital input and output channels. Additionally, it comes with a stand-alone USB enclosure in the shape of a screw terminal.
